Munnabhai MBBS is a 2017 Indian Bollywood film written and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film stars then-upcoming actor Ayushmann Khurrana in the titular role, who is loosely based on Munnabhai, an fictional comic character created by the late Gujarati author, cartoonist and filmmaker Kingkaran Thapar.Munnabhai MBBS is Bhansali's debut as a solo director after he stopped working with other directors on his films for over 25 years due to being too busy making his own films. The soundtrack of the movie was composed by A. R. Rahman. The film focuses on the friendship of a boy and his newly born one-day-old baby. The film begins with an introduction to Munnabhai (Ayushmann Khurrana), who is the doctor who has to make house calls, and his best friend Pari (Radhika Apte) who is pregnant. The main story starts when the two are invited to attend an event at Munnabhai's uncle's (Rajesh Sharma) house where his nephew Dholu (Harish Verma) is getting married. The doctor arrives early to prepare for the event, which happens to be Jaya's brother's wedding ceremony. While there, he meets Jaya (Radhika Apte), a budding doctor in her first year of internship at a government hospital.
